About Us
The majority of college students will deal with a major life stressor sometime during their college career. This may include, but is certainly not limited to, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, relationship and identity issues, as well as general day-to-day stressors such as financial and family problems. This is normal, and does not have to derail a student's life or education. Free and confidential counseling is available through the Glenville State University Student Life Counseling Center. Counseling is provided by a Licensed Professional Counselor who is further certified as a Clinical Addictions Counselor and Nationally Certified Gambling Counselor. The Counseling Center is located at 137 Mollohan, right of the 1st floor elevators. The office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with other hours available as necessary to meet the needs of the students of Glenville State University.
Mission Statement
The GSU Student Life Counseling Center believes that academic achievement and personal growth are inseparable in the development of the student. Confidentiality
Confidentiality is of the utmost importance in developing a trusting and therapeutic environment. All information pertaining to a student's involvement in services provided by the Counseling Center is confidential other than information that may be necessarily shared to ensure the safety of the student or the community. Students may choose to sign an appropriate release allowing information to be shared with significant others or for coordination of treatment.
